Here is a modern retelling of the Parable of the Sower set in today's world.

Jesus said:

"The kingdom of God is like a teacher who created messages of wisdom and hope and sent them out into the world.

Some messages were posted online and quickly attracted attention. But before anyone truly considered them, people scrolled past, distracted by endless entertainment, arguments, and advertisements. The message was forgotten almost as soon as it appeared.

Other messages reached people during difficult times. They felt inspired and shared the words with enthusiasm. Yet when life became demanding—when bills piled up, relationships became strained, or others mocked their faith—the inspiration faded. They abandoned the message because it had never taken root in their hearts.

Still other messages reached people who genuinely listened. They wanted to live differently. But they became consumed by careers, possessions, social status, and the endless pursuit of more. Their schedules grew fuller, their worries multiplied, and the wisdom they had received was crowded out until it produced little change in their lives.

But some messages reached those who paused and listened carefully.

One woman read the message while sitting beside her father's hospital bed. She carried its wisdom into her grief and became a source of comfort to others.

A young man read it while struggling with addiction. He returned to the message again and again until it helped him rebuild his life.

A business owner read it and chose fairness over profit, helping families in his community flourish.

A teacher read it and encouraged children who had been told they would never succeed.

The message took root in each of them. It changed the way they spoke, worked, forgave, and loved. Those lives touched other lives, and those touched still more.

What began as a single message became hundreds of acts of kindness, thousands of moments of compassion, and countless stories of healing.

Then Jesus asked,

'Which message succeeded? Was it the one that received the most likes? The one that was shared the fastest? Or the one that changed a heart?'

And he answered,

'The kingdom of God grows whenever truth finds a willing heart. The seed is freely given to all, but only those who nurture it will see the harvest.'

Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear."

This modern version preserves the original meaning of Jesus' parable: the seed is the message of God's truth, and the different soils represent the different ways people receive and respond to it. The focus is not on the quality of the seed, but on the condition of the heart that receives it.
